Get Hot Wata in my building again. My neighbors are smiling and smelling sweet.heheheh Unfortunately, we have a worse problem to solve. It's been known to Hawai'i Public Housing Authority and our Legislators for a long time. icon_rolleyes

There was a stabbing that occurred at MWH on August 31st at Building 17.
This past weekend, Friday Oct. 20th. A Male was beaten by several assailants with a club. Saturday morning near the Security Guard Shack. Another STABBING!

I don't know the details so I not going write about dat. What I going write is the following.

On July 16, 2007 I went with Fetu and other residents as well as many HPHA Residents from across the State and other interested parties to a meeting at the State Capital. It was called by Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland and Committee regarding HPHA. Director Chad Taniguchi and Staff gave us a breakdown and full report of what HPHA goals and wanted to achieve. When asked specifically about MWH by Representative Karl Rhoads regarding our Security Issues, Director Taniguchi referred the questions to Mr. Cliff Laboy.

In essence this was reported:

"Security at MWH is afraid to patrol the area. We will contract HPD or Sheriff Dept. to assist the Security asap!"

Before this meeting was held, we were promised to have both Gates open 24/7. Slowly the hours of operation became less and less until the Liliha Gate was closed completely.

Den at a NB Board Meeting. I found out the funds which were to be used for the HPD/Sheriffs were used for something else. Only those in the know "KNEW" about it!icon_mad

Mayor Wright Housing was screwed again!

Still, there are NO HPD Officers nor Sheriffs to assist Security.

The problems continues nightly at MWH. Drugs on Pua Lane is a drive-through store again. Children playing way into the night in the parking lots. It's a Circus and the Clowns are getting restless. There are Rules and Regulations. The problem is it's not being "ENFORCED!"

The biggest problem is having people who don't give a shit. icon_evil

This is silly...we have the same thing here...but instead of MWH...we got Beckley West...one rough joint to say the least! But cops do go and do special patrol there....do you think the police will really help? Does not seem to be the case at BW....they are just as bad as they were. Do you have a neighborhood watch?? Are people afraid to speak up?? I think that is the case there.....but if the money was there...for the cops...you should have had the cops anyhow....I think they may help a little...but until the people stand up-unfraid-it will continue.....People need to get involved! :(

Are people afraid to speak up? No. Several of us lobbied at the State Capital many times for better Security and to have the Tenant Associations Audited.

I don't put blame on HPD. The evidence above speaks for itself!icon_mad

I've let my feeling be known on the Security Issue. I was told by Director Chad Taniguchi, Mr. Cliff Laboy will be contacting me as well as others on a scheduled meeting. That was Tuesday, Oct. 23rd.

I am still waiting.

Lynn
