At The State Capital ~ Again!

Image

Pk and I went to the State Capital yesterday. The Committee on Human Services and Public Housing headed by Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland heard for the first time a briefing from Hawaii Public Housing Authority. Many residents from the various projects and other officials were there. Mr. Chad Taniguchi, Executive Director, Hawaii Public Housing Authority spoke about the current status as well about the future plans. When asked by Representative Karl Rhoads on the Security situation at MWH, Cliff Laboy said steps are being taken to have HPD Officers or Sheriffs on certain days and nights. The problems are escalating and the Security Officers are intimated by the situation. Duh.

For once, I believe HHA is on the right track. In the past, it was all talk ~ no action.

Mr. Chad Taniguchi has only been the Director for two months but already changes can be seen.

I would like to see the Neighborhood Walk be managed by MANAGEMENT. As it is, the Tenant Association Board Members are. In the past if they don't want to walk ~ there is no walk. They wala'au instead and residents still have their papers signed to receive their hours. http://www.auntiepupule.com/blog/index.php?id=711

When the Election occurred last year, many of the residents voted for the incumbents out of intimidation. Because they signed their papers. That should not be the case. It should be MANAGEMENT. Take away the power and be fair.

The MWH Tenant Association Election was tainted from the beginning. A sixteen year-old voted and bragged. It was reported and the Election should have been declared Void. But it wasn't. Other discrepancies were also reported. It went unheard. It didn't matter. Fetu, Lawrence, Patrick, several others and I went to the State Capital to tell our stories in person or by written testimonies. We were unafraid. The truth needed to be told.

And so our Voices were heard.

You know the rest.

The question remains. What happened to the Eight Thousand Dollars which still is unaccounted for? The Audit was killed by Senator Chun Oakland. It's all good that changes are coming. We still want to know what happened to the money! icon_confused

Chad Taniguchi emphasized all residents who can not follow Rules and Regulations will be subject to termination. Well, somebody betta tell um dat the President neba like listen several years regarding her Big Red Dog! icon_rolleyes However, the Dog is gone after Joanna Chaves got involved. icon_wink

And so it remains to be seen.heheheh

Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland has done a lot for our community and our State. Now she has come through for MWH and the rest of the residents of HHA. To her, The Committee on Human Services and Public Housing, and Director Chad Taniguchi ~ MAHALO!!!

A SPECIAL MAHALO to Representative Karl Rhoads!!!icon_biggrin

Sounds terrific, the cleanup Fetu organized.

Hope that between you, him, your fellow tenants, the new administrator and the legislators, you can change things for the better.

Sis Soos, It took time but our Voices were heard. Chad Taniguchi, Director for HHA means business and is sincere in what he says. He went around the room and introduced himself to each and everyone. He is reachable and wants to know first hand from the residents themselves any problems. Finally, we have someone who really cares.icon_wink

With him as Director, HHA will be much better for all concern. As for MWH ~ there needs to be a major Management change.icon_rolleyes

Enough is Enough!!
